Bérengère Bodin

In haar geboortestadje in het westen van Frankrijk, dicht bij de oceaan, verklaarde ze als kind en tot groot jolijt van de volwassenen: “ik ga bij de Indianen wonen!”. 

Bérengère Bodin (° 1980, Fontenay-le-comte, FR) toonde van jongs af aan al een sterk sociaal engagement. Als tiener wou ze straathoekwerker worden. Ze zette zich een tijdlang in voor ‘Les restos du coeur’, de Franse tegenhanger van Poverello. Pas toen ze vijftien werd, ging ze dansen. 

Ze maakte deel uit van de promovendi 2000 in het CNDC in Angers. Daarna creëerde ze een trio Les Mains Moites als eerbetoon aan Samuel Beckett. Ze vervoegde internationaal bekende gezelschappen als die van Raimund Hoghe, Joëlle Bouvier, Robyn Orlin, Christoph Marthaler en Alain Platel. Daarnaast leidt ze steeds haar eigen creaties waar ze vooral plezier beleeft aan het mengen van genres: theater, dans en muziek. Une île is haar laatste solo creatie. In 2023 zal Zoals de volle maan zegt verschijnen, in duet met Ivan Fatjo.

In her native town in the west of France, close to the ocean, she declared as a child and to the delight of the adults: "I'm going to live with the Indians!".

Bérengère Bodin (° 1980, Fontenay-le-comte, FR) showed a strong social commitment from an early age. As a teenager she wanted to become a street worker. For a while she devoted herself to 'Les restos du coeur', the French counterpart of Poverello. It wasn't until she turned fifteen that she started dancing.

She was part of the 2000 PhD students at the CNDC in Angers. She then created a trio Les Mains Moites as a tribute to Samuel Beckett. She joined internationally renowned companies such as those of Raimund Hoghe, Joëlle Bouvier, Robyn Orlin, Christoph Marthaler and Alain Platel. She always leads her own creations where she especially enjoys mixing genres: theatre, dance and music. Une île is her latest solo creation. In 2023, As the full moon says will come out, a duet with Ivan Fatjo.
