Be Flat

Be Flat is een Gents circusgezelschap opgericht door Ward Mortier en Thomas Decaesstecker. De mix van acrobatisch circus met urban sports zorgt voor de eigenheid van Be Flat. Be Flat is de kameleon onder de circusartiesten, door in te spelen op de omgeving wordt elke voorstelling een uniek gebeuren.  

Als inwoners van de stadsomgeving stellen zij de openbare ruimte in vraag.

De stad is een levend organisme, in constante verandering. “Hoe gebruiken we deze gemeenschappelijke ruimte? Wie zijn wij in het hedendaagse straatbeeld?”

Be Flat is a Ghentian circus troupe, founded by Ward Mortier and Thomas Decaesstecker. Be Flat finds its indivituality through a mix of acrobatics and urban sports. By adapting to their surroundings, each perfomance becomes a unique, one-of-a-kind happening. They are true cameleons among circus performers.

As citizens of the city landscape, they question the role of public space. The city is a living organism, constantly in motion, ever-changing. "How do we use this communal space? Who are we in this contemporary street scene?"
