Lisa Vereertbrugghen omarmt de slow als een subversieve dansvorm tegen snelheid en productiviteit
Deze installatie markeert het begin van Lisa Vereertbrugghens nieuwe onderzoek naar de slow als een potentieel subversieve dansvorm, het trage zusje van underground dansstijlen zoals gabber. Sinds 2014 onderzoekt deze Brusselse maker hardcore techno met performances, installaties en technomeditaties.
Dit keer richt ze zich op het radicale karakter van de slow, die intimiteit en traagheid omarmt te midden van een cultuur van productiviteit, snelheid, huidhonger en isolatie. In dit onderzoek wordt de slow uit haar traditionele kader gehaald en benaderd als een sociale en anti-patriarchale dansvorm.
Vereertbrugghen creëerde deze installatie speciaal voor DANSAND!, in samenwerking met dansers Ife Day, Cynthia Loemij, Sophie Guisset en Maisie Woodford. Dit vormt het startschot voor het nieuwe project SLOW, dat in maart 2026 in première gaat bij VIERNULVIER.

This installation is the starting point of Lisa Vereertbrugghen's new research into the slow dance as a potentially subversive dance, a slow sister of underground dances such as gabber. Since 2014, this Brussels-based artist has been researching hardcore techno through performances, installations and techno meditations. Now she explores the radical nature of the slow dance, which embraces intimacy and slowness in times of productivity, speed and isolation. This research takes the slow dance out of its traditional framework and approaches it as a deeply social and anti-patriarchal dance.
Vereertbrugghen made this installation especially for DANSAND! in collaboration with dancers Ife Day, Cynthia Loemij, Sophie Guisset and Maisie Woodford to kick off her new project SLOW that will premiere in VIERNULVIER, March 2026.
