Guilty pleasures op Le Sacre du Printemps
In Another Sacre bewegen twaalf dansers op een heel eigen manier doorheen de bekende compositie van Stravinsky. Ze dansen samen maar ook apart, maar wel met één doel: samen vibreren. Na één jaar opsluiting in kop en lijf ging Alain Platel met hen in gesprek en nodigde hen uit om hun guilty pleasures zoals house, crump, tango, ballet… uit hun persoonlijke dansgeschiedenis op de muziek los te laten, of eerder toe te laten. Deze invloeden zijn dikwijls verdwenen naargelang ze zich meer gingen scholen in de dans.
Le Sacre kende al zoveel versies en net daarom dan het des te interessanter om de vraag te stellen of een hedendaagse lezing van een Le Sacre du Printemps niet deze kan zijn. Een versie waarin deze generatie alles mag incorporeren wat hun liefde voor dans heeft gevoed, inclusief datgene waarvan ze dachten het te moeten afleren.

In Another Sacre, twelve dancers move in their very own way through Stravinsky's famous composition. They dance together but also separately, but with one goal: to vibrate together. After one year of confinement in head and body, Alain Platel talked to them and invited them to let go of their guilty pleasures such as house, crump, tango, ballet... from their personal dance history on the music, or rather to allow them to do so. These influences often disappeared as they became more educated in dance.
Le Sacre already knew so many versions and exactly for that reason it is all the more interesting to ask the question whether a contemporary reading of a Le Sacre du Printemps could not be this one. A version in which this generation is allowed to incorporate everything that nurtured their love of dance, including that which they thought they had to unlearn;
