Azahara Ubera Biedma

Azahara UBiedma (zij/hun) is een artiest, danser en onafhankelijk onderzoeker gevestigd in Brussel. Hun praktijk bevindt zich op het kruispunt van dans, choreografie, experimentele pedagogie en activisme en richt zich op het onderzoeken van hoe filosofische ideeën rond feminisme en queer cultuur om te zetten zijn in somatische praktijken. Ze creëren ruimtes waarin mensen en niet-mensen samen kunnen zijn. Door middel van beweging, taal, spel en geluid produceren ze intieme en collectieve ontmoetingen die zich verbinden met andersheid en zorg bevorderen. Ze starten een PhD in Choreografie aan de Goldsmiths University of London en voltooiden een onderzoeksprogramma aan P.A.R.T.S. Hun werk is getoond in verschillende locaties, musea en kunstruimtes, waaronder Kaaitheater, Beursschouwburg, Konvoi Festival in België, Antic Teatro, MACBA in Barcelona en M.N.C.A.R.S in Madrid, onder andere.

Azahara UBiedma (she/them) is an artist, dancer and independent researcher based in Brussels. Their practice is situated at the intersection of dance, choreography, experimental pedagogy and activism and looks to investigate how to translate philosophical ideas around feminism and queer culture into somatic practices. They create spaces for humans and not humans to be together. Through movement, language, games and sound, they produce intimate and collective encounters that connect with otherness and promote care. They are starting a PhD in Choreography at Goldsmiths University of London, and completed a Research cycle at P.A.R.T.S. Their work has been shown in several venues, museums and art spaces such including Kaaitheater, Beursschouwburg, Konvoi Festival in Belgium, Antic Teatro, MACBA, Barcelona and M.N.C.A.R.S in Madrid among others.
