Provocatief en ontroerend, Pressure Sensitive van Paula Sanchez is meer dan een muzikale performance. Het is een meeslepende ervaring die open-minded luisteraars beloont. Sanchez heeft haar interdisciplinaire interesses in het snijpunt van experimentele muziek, improvisatie en performancekunst samengesmolten tot één uniek werk dat harmonie vindt in ruis en melodie in dissonantie.

Taking the instrument, the material, and her own body to its limit, and reflecting on hidden desires to put ourselves in danger, Sanchez paints delightfully eerie and abstract soundscapes using unique tonalities that she spontaneously creates on the cello, enhanced electronics, and cellophane wrap. What we can hear (and see) is improvised music that, at times, is solid and static like a sculpture, while at others, it is dynamic and fluid like a dance.
