Bittová & Václavek hernemen klassiek album Bile Inferno
De release en bijbehorende concerten van de dubbel cd Bile Inferno (1997) is voor veel muziekliefhebbers wereldwijd een ‘JFK-moment’ - behorend tot die zeldzame momenten die nooit hun intensiteit verliezen in de herinnering. Zelden zat er zoveel even originele als emotionerende muziek samengebald in zo’n klein kartonnen doosje.
Verantwoordelijk hiervoor: de Tsjechische violiste, improvisator, componiste en actrice Iva Bittová en haar landgenoot, gitarist Vladimír Václavek (en wijlen Tom Cora op cello). Iedere beschrijving van deze muziek schiet tekort, maar bij benadering: speelse improvisatie die klinkt als natuurlijke compositie en de luisteraar direct tot in de ziel weet te raken, ‘folky’ invloeden uit de rijke Tsjechische muziek, een ritmische variatie die imponeert maar nooit louter en alleen de virtuositeit dient. Inventieve en hoogst fantasierijke muziek die het beste van vele stijlen tot een hoger iets weet om te smeden. Het duo blijft hierbij altijd dienend aan het belangrijkste: expressie en overdracht, en weet daarbij diep te emotioneren. Degenen die er destijds bij waren in de Vooruit weten waarover we het hier hebben en die daar niet bij waren: mis dit niet.
