Hoe ziet samenleven eruit in 2084?
Maker, regisseur en artivist Sandra Sara Raes Oklobdzija werkt aan haar nieuwe docu-fictie M.O.L. (Maatschappelijke Oriëntatie voor Locals) – een kritische maar speelse blik op hoe we vandaag samenleven, en hoe dat er in de toekomst uit zou kunnen zien.
(In M.O.L. volgen we zes personages die een voorstelling willen maken. Hun maakproces wordt echter voortdurend gehinderd door absurde sociale en ecologische omstandigheden. Uiteindelijk stoten ze op een confronterende vraag: zijn ze écht onzichtbaar, of kijkt de wereld gewoon naast hen?
Met dit project legt Sara mechanismen bloot die diep in onze samenleving én met de focus op de Belgische kunstensector verankerd zijn: integratieprocedures, elitarisme, exclusiviteit – vaak vermomd als ‘progressie’.)
Wat kan je verwachten?
Tijdens de denk & doe workshopdagen in KAAP duik je samen met Sara, Vera & Stef in de wereld van decor en scenografie. We onderzoeken vragen als:
- Hoe ziet ons landschap, zowel qua cultuur als natuur, eruit in 2084?
- Hoe ziet een veld, een stad, een publieke ruimte of een podium er dan uit?
- Wat blijft over van de wereld die we nu kennen: welke materialen, voorwerpen, welke landschappen; en wat komt erbij?
Dag 1 – 17 oktober | Denken & verbeelden
De eerste dag focust op verbeelding en denkoefeningen. Via materialen en interactie verkennen we de ruimte en zoeken we naar nieuwe manieren om samen te kijken en samen te denken. We stellen daarbij een vraag: “Kan een gedachte een scenografie worden? Kan een gedachtegang ons mentaal decor zijn?”
Dag 2 – 18 oktober | Doen & maken
De tweede dag zetten we ideeën om in materiaal. We werken met rekwisieten, objecten en diverse materialen en bekijken decor vanuit verschillende invalshoeken: theater, dagelijkse objecten, maatschappelijke omstandigheden. Samen bouwen we aan mogelijke toekomstbeelden van ons gedeelde landschap.
Iedereen is welkom! Niet alleen kunstenaars, denkers, makers, maar ook gewoon nieuwsgierigen. Ervaring is geen vereiste, openheid en goesting wel.

- Je kan deelnemen aan beide dagen, maar ook inschrijven voor één dag.

What will living together look like in 2084?
Creator, director and artivist Sandra Sara Raes Oklobdzija is working on her new docu-fiction M.O.L. (Maatschappelijke Oriëntatie voor Locals, or Social Orientation for Locals) – a critical but playful look at how we live together today and what that might look like in the future.
(In M.O.L., we follow six characters who want to create a performance. However, their creative process is constantly hampered by absurd social and ecological circumstances. Ultimately, they encounter a confrontational question: are they really invisible, or is the world simply looking past them?
With this project, Sara exposes mechanisms that are deeply embedded in our society and, with a focus on the Belgian arts sector, integration procedures, elitism, exclusivity – often disguised as “progress”.)
What can you expect?
During the think & do workshop days at KAAP, you will dive into the world of decor and scenography together with Sara, Vera & Stef. We will explore questions such as:
- What will our landscape look like in 2084, both in terms of culture and nature?
- What will a field, a city, a public space or a stage look like then?
- What will remain of the world we know today: which materials, objects, which landscapes; and what will be added?
Day 1 – 17 October | Thinking & imagining
The first day focuses on imagination and thinking exercises. Using materials and interaction, we explore the space and look for new ways to look and think together. We ask the question: ‘Can a thought become a scenography? Can a train of thought be our mental backdrop?’
Day 2 – 18 October | Doing & making
On the second day, we will translate ideas into material. We will work with props, objects and various materials and look at scenery from different angles: theatre, everyday objects, social circumstances. Together, we will build possible future images of our shared landscape.
Everyone is welcome! Not only artists, thinkers and makers, but also those who are simply curious. No experience is required, but openness and enthusiasm are.
