Ruben Mardulier

Ruben Mardulier (1993, Tienen) studeerde in 2015 af aan de Academie voor Circus en Performance Art in Tilburg. In oktober 2016 vormde Ruben samen met Michiel Deprez het kunstenaarsduo 'Mardulier en Deprez (MenD)' waarmee ze zowel zichzelf als circusartiesten als hun directe omgeving op een absurde manier onderzochten. De zomer van 2022 betekende het einde van 'MenD' en de start van een nieuwe artistieke wending waarbij Ruben zich verder ontplooit als multi-mediaal kunstenaar. Net zoals tijdens de maakprocessen van 'MenD' komen concepten voornamelijk tot stand uit observatie en dialoog.

Milan Van Bortel, Mimi Wascher en Camille Paycha zijn vaste waarden als klankborden en medemakers in Ruben's werk, dat zich voornamelijk uit in korte activaties, video, installaties en performances met een absurd en vanzelfsprekend karakter.

Ruben Mardulier (1993, Tienen) graduated at the Academy of Circus and Performance Art in Tilburg in 2015. In October 2016,  Ruben and Michiel Deprez created the artist duo 'Mardulier en Deprez (MenD)'. In an absurd manner, they researched both their direct surroundings and themselves as circus artists. The summer of 2022 meant the end of 'MenD' and the start of a new artistic direction for Ruben, continuing to evolve as an interdisciplinary artist. In the same way as with 'MenD', Ruben continued his processs of creation through observation and dialogue.

Milan Van Bortel, Mimi Wascher and Camille Paycha are fixed values within Ruben's often collaborative practice. This expresses itself mainly in short activations, video, installation and performances, all with an absurd character.
