Maria Ferreira Silva (1988) begon aan haar artistieke carrière op zes jaar, wanneer ze in het lokale auditorium van haar dorp in een buitenwijk van Lissabon voor het eerst optrad.
Ze behaalde dansdiploma's van het Nationale Conservatorium van Lissabon en van P.A.R.T.S. in Brussel. Ze heeft gewerkt als danser, choreograaf, leerkracht, onderzoeker, mentor en kostuumontwerper en blijft nieuwsgierig naar andere rollen die haar in de danswereld zouden kunnen lokken.
Als danser werkte ze al met Willi Dorner, Daniel Linehan, Georgia Vardarou, Radouan Mriziga, Marco Torrice, Anneleen Keppens, Renan Martins de Oliveira, Maud le Pladec, Benjamin Vandewalle en Trajal Harrell, waarvoor ze momenteel als rehearsal director werkt bij Schauspielhaus Zurich. Als leerkracht werkt ze voor instituties as het Koninklijk Conservatorium van Antwerpen, de University of the arts in Stockholm, Charleroi danse en AORCA summer lab.
Maria is een dansartiest en definieert haar artistieke praktijk als een levend ecosysteem waar verschillende werkwijzen, rollen en contexten haar betrokkenheid in het kunstveld voeden.

Maria Ferreira Silva (1988), starts her artistic journey at the age of six performing at the local auditorium of her hometown in the suburbs of Lisbon. She holds a dance degree from the National Conservatory of Lisbon and P.A.R.T.S. in Brussels. She has worked as a dancer, choreographer, teacher, researcher, mentor and costume designer and remains curious for other roles that may seduce her in the dance field.
As a dancer she works with Willi Dorner, Daniel Linehan, Georgia Vardarou, Radouan Mriziga, Marco Torrice, Anneleen Keppens, Renan Martins de Oliveira, Maud le Pladec, Benjamin Vandewalle and Trajal Harrell, for whom she is currently also working as rehearsal director at Schauspielhaus Zurich.
