Indre Jurgelevičiūtė & Amina Abouelghar

Amina Abouelghar (zij/haar) is danser en choreograaf, werkzaam tussen Brussel en Caïro, sinds haar afstuderen aan het CCDC in Cairo in 2019. Ze werkte aan haar eerste solo in 2023 Young Dreams die werd getoond op NEXT Festival, Les Chorégraphiques, Vevey en Festival de la Cité. Ze maakt deel uit van het internationale dansduo Nafaq; hun werk was reeds te zien op Festival de Marseille, D-CAF, Indiscipline Festival (WIELS) en Triennale di Milano. Vanuit haar fascinatie voor muziek en ritme – en hoe dans en geluid elkaar beïnvloeden – werkt ze vaak samen met muzikanten om nieuwe performatieve talen te ontwikkelen. 

Indrė Jurgelevičiūtė is een internationaal gelauwerde muzikante die met haar betoverende kanklės-klanken werelden verbindt. Vanuit haar achtergrond in Litouwen en Rotterdam creëert ze een unieke muzikale taal waarin natuur, ritueel en verstilling centraal staan. Met haar band Merope toerde ze wereldwijd en won ze met het album Naktės de Klara Award voor beste Belgische wereldmuziek (2019). Daarnaast werkt ze samen met topmuzikanten als Baba Sissoko en Solo Cissokho, waarmee ze traditionele Afrikaanse muziek verweeft met haar eigen delicate sound. 
Haar muziek raakt met zachte melancholie en stille vreugde, een intieme, poëtische ervaring die culturen samenbrengt en de luisteraar even laat thuiskomen.

Amina Abouelghar (she/her) is a dancer and choreographer working between Brussels and Cairo, since graduating from the CCDC in Cairo in 2019. She developed her first solo Young Dreams in 2023, which was presented at NEXT Festival, Les Chorégraphiques, Vevey and Festival de la Cité. She is part of the international dance duo Nafaq; their work has been shown at Festival de Marseille, D-CAF, Indiscipline Festival (WIELS) and Triennale di Milano. Driven by her fascination with music and rhythm — and how dance and sound influence each other — she frequently collaborates with musicians to develop new performative languages.

Indrė Jurgelevičiūtė is an internationally acclaimed musician who connects worlds with her enchanting kanklės sounds. Drawing on her background in Lithuania and Rotterdam, she creates a unique musical language in which nature, ritual and stillness take centre stage. With her band Merope she has toured worldwide and won the Klara Award for best Belgian world music with the album Naktės (2019). She also collaborates with leading musicians such as Baba Sissoko and Solo Cissokho, weaving traditional African music together with her own delicate sound. Her music touches with gentle melancholy and quiet joy — an intimate, poetic experience that brings cultures together and offers the listener a fleeting sense of coming home.
