Fuensanta

Fuensanta is ongetwijfeld een van dé opkomende sensaties in de internationale jazzscene. De zangeres en bassiste werd geboren in de Mexicaanse havenstad Veracruz en begon haar muzikale reis op 13-jarige leeftijd. Om zich te vervolmaken als jazzmuzikante ging ze studeren aan het jazzconservatorium van Amsterdam waar ze summa cum laude afstudeerde. In haar muziek viert en bezingt ze de natuur en de cultuur van haar geboorteland Mexico.

Haar gloednieuwe quartet, met Gabriel Milliet, Isa Crespo en Álex Lázaro, brengt vier kleurrijke muzikale soulmates samen, toegewijd aan het creëren van een diepgaand surrealistisch droombeeld. Het roept Mexicaanse en Latijns-Amerikaanse traditionele muziek op, evenals jazz, improvisatie en klassieke muziek, waarbij de oprechtheid van haar stem en teksten alle gebaren, nuances en beslissingen stuurt. Het geluid dat hieruit ontstaat blinkt uit in uniciteit. 

Fuensanta is undoubtedly one of the rising sensations in the international jazz scene. The singer and bassist was born in the Mexican port city of Veracruz and began her musical journey at the age of 13. To further develop herself as a jazz musician, she studied at the Conservatory of Amsterdam, where she graduated summa cum laude. In her music, she celebrates and sings about the nature and culture of her native Mexico.

Her brand-new quartet — featuring Gabriel Milliet, Isa Crespo, and Álex Lázaro — brings together four colorful musical soulmates, united in their commitment to creating a profound, surreal dreamscape. Their sound evokes Mexican and Latin American traditional music, as well as jazz, improvisation, and classical music, all guided by the sincerity of her voice and lyrics, which shape every gesture, nuance, and decision.
