De Brusselse muzikante met Ghanese roots Esinam is ongetwijfeld één van de hardest working women in de Belgische muziekscene. Met haar voornaamste instrument - de dwarsfluit - trok ze intussen de hele wereld rond en liet zich inspireren door alle geluiden en invloeden die op haar pad kwamen. In haar meest recente werk graaft ze steeds dieper in de muzikale rijkdom van de Afrikaanse muziektradities. Eerder dit jaar bracht ze nog het internationaal gewaardeerde album “Healing Voices” uit in duo met de Zuid-Afrikaanse percussionist en multi-instrumentalist Sibusile Xaba.

Op Jazz Brugge treedt ze opnieuw solo aan, gewapend met haar dwarsfluit, synths, loopstations en een arsenaal aan percussie-instrumenten. Esinams muziek is bezwerend, harmonieus en zet aan tot dansen. Een gedroomde afsluiter dus voor deze mooi gevulde zaterdagavond op Jazz Brugge.

Brussels-based musician Esinam, who has Ghanaian roots, is undoubtedly one of the hardest working women in the Belgian music scene. With her main instrument — the flute — she has traveled the world, drawing inspiration from the sounds and influences encountered along the way. In her most recent work, she delves deeper into the musical richness of African traditions. Earlier this year, she released the internationally acclaimed album Healing Voices in collaboration with South African percussionist and multi-instrumentalist Sibusile Xaba.
