The fish within
Hoeveel van de kwal, de vis of amfibie is nog aanwezig in het menselijk lichaam en de stem?
In deze workshop proberen we deze vraag te doorgronden door de bewegingen van de vroege fylo- en ontogenese* te onderzoeken in verband met de klank van onze stem. Volgens fonoloog Jeremie Abitbol ontwikkelde het menselijk strottenhoofd zich uit de kieuwen van vissen. Eveneens waren onze oren reeds aanwezig in vissen. Dus wat onderscheidt zeezoogdieren zoals walvissen van andere vissen ? Waarom kunnen zij zingen?
Tijdens een reis door de evolutie van de stem, zullen we deze fenomenen en vragen op een praktische manier tegenkomen en tegelijkertijd het potentieel van de stem ontvouwen.
* Fylogenie is de studie van de afstammingsgeschiedenis van een groep organismen. Ontogenese is de ontwikkeling van een organisme van eicel tot volwassen individu. In principe omvat het begrip zelfs de veroudering.

How much of the jellyfish, fish or amphibian is still present in the human body and voice? In this workshop we try to fathom this question by examining the movements of early phylo- and ontogeny* in relation to the sound of our voice. According to phonologist Jeremie Abitbol, the human larynx developed from the gills of fish. Likewise, our ears were already present in fish. So what distinguishes marine mammals such as whales from other fish? Why can they sing? On a journey through the evolution of the voice, we will encounter these phenomena and questions in a practical way, while unfolding the voice's potential.
